Wildberry - A LEAN Journey

When your business ethos is based on the foundations of honesty and tradition, is it possible to remain true to your mission when your competition is often more focused on quantity over quality? Wildberry, founded by Susan Robbins and Tom Fehily, based in Ballineen, are proof that time honoured traditions and an honest approach coupled with the Lean programme can ignite a business and bring it to places which may never have been envisaged.

A family business since 2017, Wildberry produce award winning baked goods which just so happen to also be gluten free. Building the business from a small café and shop to a commercial business delivering high quality products nationwide was not accidental. While Wildberry availed of many supports from the LEO over the years, it is the Lean programme that has been a game-changer for them, increasing productivity by more than 40% and offering them a healthier work/life balance. Lean has allowed Susan and Tom more time to work on their business, take weekends off, be in control of accounts and admin and take holidays. With more than 15 awards under their belt they have also been shortlisted for this year's Micro Lean Business of the Year Award as well as winning Product of the Year for their Carrot and Walnut Cake at the Irish Quality Food and Drink Awards with Simply Better Dunnes Stores.
